Dr. Harishchandra Yakandawala is the driving force behind Village 60 Plus. With exceptional achievements and contributions in the field of medicine and healthcare, he is widely respected in both academic and clinical circles. In 2022, he was honored with a Fellowship (FCCP SL) by the College of Community Physicians of Sri Lanka, a testament to his dedication to improving public health and providing quality care to the elderly.
Dr. Yakandawala’s extensive experience, qualifications, recognition, and dedication have made him a respected figure in the field of healthcare. His contributions to public health, medical education, humanitarian assistance, sexual and reproductive health, health communication, and elderly care have positively impacted the lives of many individuals in Sri Lanka.
He serves as a resource and advisor for numerous national-level programs and policy-level discussions regarding elder care in Sri Lanka sponsored by the Ministry of Social Services, Ministry of Health, WHO, UNFPA, ADB, and World Bank. He has done numerous introductions on issues connected with Elderly population in Sri Lanka at various public level discussions and a speaker in many Parental figure preparing programs.
Our Staff
Our staff combine practical nursing and care expertise with business and people management skills. All our care staff are qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level and many are pursuing higher qualifications. All care staff are proficient in the use of keyboards, IT skills and English language.
Standards are constantly monitored in a recognised and acknowledged manner and we constantly analys the care provided so we can reduce the risk of accidents.
We have dedicated housekeeping and laundry staff whose contribution to the smooth running of the homes is invaluable. Our experienced kitchen team cater for residents daily to a high standard. They can also be booked for private family celebrations within the home, such as birthdays and anniversaries. Village 60 plus has its own training consortium for staff.
